Snack time

When we lived in North Carolina, we had a lot of wildlife visit our backyard. On this day we were able to see the food chain in action. I was inside, shooting through our window, so I’m surprised the photo is as clear as it is. I love how I captured his one eye — gives him a little more personality. I believe it’s a broad-winged hawk (juvenile?), but it has yellow eyes. If anyone is good at bird identification, please correct me.

It was hard to see any detail, especially his one eye, in the original. So I cropped in and sharpened. I increased the vibrancy, clarity, and contrast just a little and used the radial filter to create a vignette right where I wanted it. The normal vignette slider would have darkened the bird’s head too much. Here’s the original:

I'm a photographer and homeschooler Dream = travel blogger. We move around every couple of years. That's fine, I love seeing different parts of our great country and the world. Great things: Jesus, traveling, photography, eating, sewing, scrapbooking, reading, shopping...not necessarily in that order.
