Still Life

Sometimes you want to take a picture of a pear. . . amiright?

The editing challenge is so great because I can use just about any image I’ve shot. Even a pear. In the original below, you can see that I didn’t compose the shot very well. I think I was concerned about depth of field (this was several years ago). Although I did get the rule of thirds. Thank goodness for external hard drives for saving shots like this. . .amiright?

Puddle Jumping

Kids should play in the rain more.

That’s what washing machines are for.

I cropped in from the original to focus on my daughter. I also gave it a more nostalgic look.08May

Light Painting – Orb

This pic is actually from tonight. My photography group practiced with light painting. It was so much fun! This was tutorial I read before going out tonight: Chris Bray Photography

The original was still cool but I thought the contrast and clarity needed enhancing. I upped the saturation just a bit in the sky.

The grass of Utah

We drove around the Great Salt Lake on our way to the Golden Spike.

This was some of the scenery. We were totally amazed.

This was taken with my iPhone through the windshield. There’s some noise, but I tried to smooth out a bit of it. I increased the contrast and worked on the clouds and mountains. You can see how flat the original looked below.

The original was dark and had no real subject. I cropped in and then cloned out the men in the bottom right.
