I’m a Ramblin’ Wreck…*

I’m a Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an engineer,
A helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, hell of an engineer,
Like all the jolly good fellows, I drink my whiskey clear,
I’m a Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an engineer.
Oh, if I had a daughter, sir, I’d dress her in White and Gold,
And put her on the campus, to cheer the brave and bold.
But if I had a son, sir, I’ll tell you what he’d do.
He would yell, “To Hell with Georgia,” like his daddy used to do.
Oh, I wish I had a barrel of rum and sugar three thousand pounds,
A college bell to put it in and a clapper to stir it around.
I’d drink to all good fellows who come from far and near.
I’m a ramblin’, gamblin’, hell of an engineer.

GO JACKETS! Bust their ass!!
GO JACKETS! Bust their ass!!
GO JACKETS! Bust their ass!!
GO JACKETS! FIGHT!

I’ve been waiting six long years for this day. Ga Tech finally beat GA in what was an awesome and very close game. My blood pressure is still through the roof and I almost had a heart attack a couple of times during the game. There was even a time where I just couldn’t even be in the room I was such a nervous WRECK.

But it happened. They won. IN ATHENS. Between the hedges. Take that Dawgs! I will now be on cloud nine for oh, about a year.

I just had to let you all know just how happy I am. Finally! Oh, and go ‘bama!

*I am not actually a Ramblin’ Wreck, but I did spend enough time there that I could get my honorary MRS degree from there. And I did live on campus one summer. So, yes, I do claim to be a Ramblin’ Wreck. Not as much as Kelly or Danyelle though. Go Jackets!

I'm a photographer and homeschooler Dream = travel blogger. We move around every couple of years. That's fine, I love seeing different parts of our great country and the world. Great things: Jesus, traveling, photography, eating, sewing, scrapbooking, reading, shopping...not necessarily in that order.

  1. yay. the pig-cutting chase is tiresome, but it’s much less so when the outcome means that people won’t bark at you. not to say they won’t be sore losers and suddenly discover a new-found love of chaste language (not mentioning any names…….LULA). but at least they (probably) won’t bark at you.

  2. Victory is so sweet. Hubby and I root for Tech, as long as they aren’t playing UNC. 😀 I am tempted to get a flag and drive around with it to remind all the UGA fans in my county….

  3. So funny! Cute post… love the enthusiasm!
So here’s a question from someone with only one state college… how to choose between state and tech if you (me, really) didn’t go to either one? So confusing!

  4. Rivalries are exciting, aren’t they? We didn’t beat our rival this year (Texas), but we got past them in the BCS anyway! Many at OU are calling this “National Listen to Texas Whine Week.”

  5. Well, I am surprised…but UGA’s fight song has some cuss words thrown at Tech as well, and I modify those when I sing it so they are not cuss words (but then again, is it the intent or the word that matters?).

Anyway, you know I mean this in love, but one correction I must make. Georgia had actually won 14 straight until this loss, because Tech had to vacate their three wins in between our sets of 7. When you are an unhappy Georgia fan, just remembering that this is the first official win in 15 games for Tech makes you happier. 🙂
