Next to the Centre Georges Pompidou is La Fontaine Stravinsky, celebrating the Rite of Spring. Next to the fountain is a wall mural of who I thought was Salvador Dali, but after researching I found out it is the artist’s Jef Aerosol’s self portrait and its name is “Chuuuttt!” (shhhhh!)
And next to all this modern architecture and art sits L’Eglise Saint-Merri. Get this – the first church built on that site was built in 800s AD. THIS structure was built in the 1500s and was altered in the 1700s.
Talk about juxtaposition of old and new!

The original was dull and flat. I started out by increasing the vibrance, contrast, and clarity and lightening the shadows. Then I decided to try the HDR filter to see how it affected the church. I liked it. I took away the vignetting that the preset added and decreased the blacks a little. I made the whole photo a little bit warmer then I added an adjustment brush on the church windows to increase their clarity a touch. Here’s the original:
