Durham, N.C.- American Tobacco Campus – I went on a night photo shooting tour here a couple years ago. I learned a lot about lighting and shutter speed. At the time I was glad there were not many people around. Now I’m wishing there were a couple of people leaning against the railing or walking.

Hair as fine as silk tends to react like this in the charged winter air.
I wanted to add more contrast to the hair to make it stand out more from the background.

Sigh, it’s painfully clear at how I struggled with getting a sharp image. I couldn’t really edit that one away.

Fat Cat
I don’t even know how to explain this. Our cat used to sit like this quite often. He’s gotten more dignified in his middle age.

The original was quite yellow. And there isn’t enough of his beautiful green eyes showing to worry about the color, so black and white it became.
