Working the flower beds

La Fortuna is a cute little town near the Arenal Volcano, north of San Jose, in Costa Rica. They have a great city square with a church, a view of the volcano, and beautiful flower beds.

This man was out tending the beds on a particularly warm day. The photo is busy, but so is the park.

He was in his own little world.

I like how the picture is divided up though. There’s nothing going on in front of him. After him comes the barrier of flowers and then all the activity.

The man was a little too shadowed so I brightened him. I also increased the sharpness and clarity on him. The lady behind him has a distracting blue shirt on, so I decreased the saturation on her.

We went to Costa Rica recently. There are monkeys all over the place in the Manuel Antonio area! I was sitting on our porch one morning, enjoying the sunrise on the Pacific, when all of the sudden a group of capuchin monkeys made their way through the trees (and the balconies) around me.

Washington in Color

I took my LensBaby Spark out one morning and had some fun. I decided to play with the saturation on this edit since the stone they used changes color a quarter of the way up anyway.
