NOT a lousy t-shirt!
A friend and I headed up to NYC for the day this past weekend (for $24, I know!). She lived in the city for a while so we knew exactly where to go and how to get there. We headed down to SoHo to do some shopping. It was such a beautiful and warm day. We did lots of walking and lots of shopping. A little bit of eating too. As much as I love clothes and shoes what I’m so excited I got are these:
Images by Edie Pijpers
Both are painted by artist, Edie Pijpers. We made it to Union Square where lots of artists of all different mediums were selling their wares. We both fell in love with Edie’s paintings as soon as we saw them. I only got these two because I restrained myself. Take a look at her work on Etsy. I want to get several of the blue pieces as well. There’s a cute, magical quality to them that makes you happy as soon as you see them. Sigh… I want to live in that world.
I plan on blogging more about my family’s weekend, but I wanted to show you Edie’s amazing artwork.
those are really cute!
i can see why you got them, they are super cute!
Just spent the past 15 minutes reading through your posts…field trips, White House egg roll, South America, Twilight, boots, no social media for Lent, etc.
Now I feel caught up.
But I do want to hear more about NYC.
Also, maybe I’ll get around to blogging about our trip to Disney. One highlight was all the countries we visited in Epcot. The girls ate all manner of foods from Norway, Germany, China, Mexico, and Africa. Was SO proud of them. (We all liked the African food the best–at “Boma,” in the Animal Kingdom Lodge.)
Yes, blog, blog, blog! Epcot is my favorite park down there, I think because it’s the least kid-like, haha!
The Pentagon offers day trips to NYC every once in a while. This is the first one I’ve taken but I’m sure I’ll be taking many more. Reagan wants to go to the American Girl Store (and Mood) and I just want to be up there ๐ My neighbor went to school there so she knows her way around.
Have a great week! V
Thanks for sharing this artist. I want get some of her work for Emma and Addie to decorate their new rooms when they move to HAWAII. (Jason got orders last week – three years guaranteed no deployments – a huge blessing since he has been gone 2 1/2 of the last three years.)
WOW!! Great assignment and even better that there will be no deployments. AND maybe you’ll get to visit! I love her artwork…I think it might be overkill to get every single piece…but I sure do want to ๐
Lovely! And you can’t beat the city on a nice day in the spring. I think it is the being cooped up in the winter and then suddenly spring is here and you can walk and show off your toes…love it!
Found some wonderful artisans on Etsy!
