Biltmore from the Lagoon

We visited what we like to call “our second home” in April of 2014.

Such a beautiful day at a beautiful house.

The back of the Biltmore mansion can be viewed from the Lagoon near the house in Asheville, NC NotSoSAHM

The original was dull and a little dim. I also cropped in a little to get rid of some branches in the water. Oh, and I cloned out the car.

Enola Gay

Humans love to attach significance to items. We want to experience the gravity. We understand the weight of events and moments.

This was a big one.

Crabby

Fresh seafood – can’t get much fresher.

The original is below. I sharpened the picture and cooled the temperature a little to make it seem icier. The crabs are behind glass, and you can see the reflection in both pictures. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the reflection using Lightroom? TIA!

Big Sur

The drive down the Pacific Coast Highway takes a long time.

Can you imagine why?

Lots of stopping and getting out to admire the view.

The coastline along the Pacific Coast Highway in the Big Sur area is rugged and beautiful NotSoSAHM

The original just needed a little boost. I didn’t use any presets on this one.

Dragonfly Nose

I used my macro to take this pic, and now I’m wishing I would just set up the tripod when I’m shooting with the macro. But when you’re working with a fickle model you don’t know how much time you have.

Look at how hairy it is!

And check out that spider web stuck on its foot.

The original:

I tried to get close enough to see the compound eye, but my camera didn’t pick it up. I sharpened everything and upped the saturation just a bit.

Fisherman’s Wharf – Monterey

Almost all of Monterey is photogenic.

The wharf has played an integral part in Monterey’s history, from sardines to tourists (and no, the tourists don’t stink after three days).

The original:The wharf was leaning! I fixed the horizon and added that HDR preset. I’m really liking that with water shots.
