There’s not much negative space in this pic, but I wanted to play it up since there wasn’t much else going for the photo.

Except for her adorable grin.

That pole was distracting me, and that’s when I knew what I needed to do with the edit.

On Instagram I have the challenge of reframing my edits to fit the square ratio. With this one, I decided to show no part of her hand. I know there are rules about cutting off body parts. I don’t normally follow rules. What do you think? With the hand or without?

Is too much of her missing from the left photo? Does the hand look like it’s been lobbed in the photo on the right?

It may seem like a boring countryside picture, and well, it is. But I had to do a lot of editing to get it to this point. Take a look at the before and after. This is an iPhone pic taken while in motion on a California country highway. With A LOT of power lines.

Those power lines were a bear to remove, but I think I did a respectable job. I probably could have erased that sign too. . .

This is probably one of the most photographed things in America, but I just love it. The geosphere – Spaceship Earth – at Disney’s Epcot.

The lines.

And at night, the color.

Big Sur Haze

Oh the magnificent deep that lies just below these calm waters. Monterey Bay is an underwater canyon, about the depth of the Grand Canyon.

Here is the original. Very flat and very blue. When I started manipulating it, I realized it was taking on a toy-like quality.
