Photography and Homeschooling (Roadschooling as often as we can)
There were never such devoted sisters.
I like how the light is set off by the darkness around their faces. There’s something about black and white, though. I’m not sure which I prefer. Either way, I wish I had my aperture set a little smaller to get both faces more in focus. Looking back at the data, I had it set at 6.3. Maybe 8 would have been better.

A section of the Berlin Wall on display at the Newseum in Washington D.C.
The Newseum has great exhibits. When we went several years ago they had a large section of the Berlin Wall on display. Yesterday’s picture was taken during the same trip to the Newseum as the one below. Such a fascinating exhibit, and museum.

I’ve been learning a little about composition in an online class I have been watching the last two days. The class was on family photography, photojournalism style.
I like the composition of this photo. It’s not perfect, but I love how Reagan’s chin is pointing to the words “Fall of the Wall” and she’s looking up, like she’s wondering about the wall she’s standing against. Yes, the pipe looks like it’s coming out of her head, but it might be considered a leading line. And Ashlyn’s eyes are following the line of the horizontal wall. They’re almost mirroring each other – if only Ash was looking up as well.

One of my favorite displays at the National Museum of American History in Washington D.C. is the American flag – done in an original way.
I love the texture and the different colors of the individual tiles.
