So long, 2016!

We slayed 2016 and now it’s on to conquer 2017! . . . ugly Christmas sweaters and all!

Here’s wishing all my friends out there a safe and prosperous new year.

Learn from the past.

Aim for better in the future.

Rely on God for the big and small things.

So long, 2016 – ProjectEdit365 – 31 Dec

Also, this IS NOT QUITE THE END of my Project Edit 365! I didn’t start the project until February, 2016, so I still have one more month of edits. December has been SO LONG. It’s been hard for me to find pictures that I’ve wanted to work on. That says something about me, though. I need to release those creative juices! I hope that I’ve taken lots of pictures in previous Januaries so I have a deep well of images to choose from.

Head over to the blog I created for this project, Project Edit 365, to see the original picture. Thanks!

Opening Gifts

They’ve always been so good about opening presents, sharing, and being thankful. I love this candid of them checking out some presents given to them during one of our visits to Georgia.

The original was busy and yellow so I cropped in, went black and white, and. . . head over to Project Edit 365 to see the original! Thanks!

New Mexico White Christmas

Our oldest daughter’s first Christmas was a white one, even in New Mexico! And we had enough snow to build a giant snowman! She wasn’t crazy about being out in the cold and wasn’t sure what to make of the snow, so she didn’t spend too much time out there. Enough to get this cute pose though:

This was taken on what was probably our first digital camera. Head over to Project Edit 365 to see what edits I did. Thanks!

Celebrate – ProjectEdit365 – 27 Dec

I love the softness that shooting into the sun provides, but the original was too hazy due to the sun behind her shoulder. Head over to the blog I created just for Project Edit 365 to see what the original looked like and how I edited it! Thanks, and Happy 2017!

Reindeer Run

When we lived in North Carolina, we ran a 5K as a family to support a local charity. Let’s just say 1.5 of us were very enthusiastic; 1.5 of us tolerated it; and 1 of us complained the whole way. In the end, we did enjoy the experience, and we all *loved* the donuts at the finish line!

The picture was so grainy so head on over to Project Edit 365 to see how I dealt with that and what other edits I applied. Thanks!

Magical lights

One of our traditions each year is to drive around with mugs of hot cocoa while listening to Christmas music, and look at Christmas lights. What is one of your traditions?

I didn’t change very much in the picture. But click over to Project Edit 365 to see what I did do and what the original looked like. Thanks!
