We are using Apologia’s Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures of the 5th Day for our science curriculum this year. Since we’re on the Pacific Coast I couldn’t imagine a better curriculum. Lesson two covers Cetaceans: whales, dolphins, and porpoises. The majority of the chapter was spent on learning about toothed whales and baleen whales. And IContinue reading “What’s the best way to end the whale chapter in science?”

Roadschooling – East to West: The Canyons
Northern Arizona is so cool. There are so many things to see and do. If you have AT&T as your cell service, however, don’t expect to be able to talk to anyone about it. I love how you can see the pollen on the close up shots. I’m no botanist, but I thinkContinue reading “Gardenias (macro)”

We spent over three hours touring the house. Even the girls enjoyed it! THE GROUNDS The groundsContinue reading “Asheville, NC – Biltmore”
